BMI Group, Branding, Editorial, Video, UX and Website Design

BMI Group is the largest manufacturer of flat and pitched roofing and waterproofing solutions throughout Europe with a significant presence in parts of Asia and Africa.

The company wanted to celebrate BMI's 5 year anniversary. Creating multiple activations which show their rich history of craftsmanship, expertise and innovation, and how they have evolved as a business through centuries and generations.

Initial Visual Identity

 

The process began with research around the existing brand before moving on to sketching and development of the 5 year anniversary visual identity.

Initial concepts were presented to the client. A clear favourite was selected with some suggested development added.

Visual Identity Development

 

The client liked the below geometric route. Shapes from and inspired by the square of the original brand were used to created a 5 shape.

This meant that images could be used within the campaign logo. This was key as it could show images of employees and history of the company.

Final Logo

 

The final logo is bold and fits within the exiting BMI brand.

The simple shapes can be used to hold images and larger sizes or block colour can be used so the logo still works out smaller sizes.

BMI Anniversary Book

 

To celebrate the 5 year anniversary stories from employees were collected from around the company.

These were put into a 60+ page book which can be seen below. The editorial was brought to live using the visual identity of shapes from the anniversary logo.

A large wall hanging timeline was also developed so employees could see key days from BMI’s history.

Merchandise was also created in the anniversary brand to used around the company and celebration events.

Video

 

A anniversary video was put together to show the full history of the BMI brand. This included an animated timeline of key events in the company’s long history.

It also had messages from the CEO as well as images and videos of employees working and at events.

Website

 

A microsite was design and developed to show the history and size of the company. A interactive timeline which can be scrolled though shows key moments from BMI’s history. The user is able to click into each timeline point to see more information.

As well as the timeline there is an interactive map which shows all of BMI’s offices and factories over the globe. This can be navigated to discover more information about where BMI is in the current world.
